The write is just gorgeous. I feel like I'l listen and relisten to this every time I want something with spectacular prose. I really needed this after a couple middling pop history books.
I'm very clearly not the intended audience for this, but I enjoyed the content nonetheless. I can see why Coates used this as a basis for Between the World and Me
. It was very interesting to see a contemporary view of so many Civil Rights issues, especially the Nation of Islam.
